Find Your Breath

Breathing for resilience isn't about suffering. This is about intentionally doing hard things and learning to stick within your breath.
I use a sauna and cold plunge to frame this concept, but it can be applied to all the uncomfortable parts of life.
It's important to not lose your breath during the challenging moments in life. Our ability to respond (responsibility) needs to be cultivated along the way by choosing to experience stress and breathing through it. This is a move towards longevity as the top mortality causes all relate to your oxygen or lack there of.
In saunas, cold plunges, workouts or whatever else you choose to experience stress, as your heart rate climbs, challenge yourself to slow your respiration. You can use any down regulation breath you want, but the key is a longer exhale. Also, these wonderful moments of discomfort are the ultimate breath training sessions go through the gears of awareness, focus, and slowing down (in that order).
You have the ability to do hard things. Find your breath.
